Key takeaways
- There is no standard price. Rodent work is priced from the house, after an inspection.
- Removal, proofing, and clean-up are three different jobs, priced three different ways.
- A real quote is written, lists the openings found, and is known before work begins.
The short answer
How much does rodent control cost? It depends on the house, and any company that gives you a firm number over the phone is guessing. The animal, how much activity there is, where it is, and how the rodents are getting in change from one house to the next, even on the same street. That is why the inspection comes first. Ours is free, and you get the full price in writing before any work starts.
What drives the cost
Four things. The animal and how much activity there is: a small mouse problem is less work than rats established across an attic, and heavier activity means more trapping and more follow-up visits. Where the rodents are: attics, crawlspaces, and wall voids take more time to reach than a garage. The entry points: how many openings there are and what sealing them takes. And the house itself: size, stories, roof type, and how it was built.
Hearing scratching? Finding droppings?
Let's find out how they're getting in.
An entry-point inspection checks the common ways rats and mice get in, shows you what we find, and tells you what needs to be sealed.
Removal, proofing, and clean-up are priced differently
These are three different jobs, and a quote should not blur them. Rodent removal cost is the trapping work: taking out the rats or mice already inside, priced on the activity level and the follow-up visits needed to confirm it has stopped. Mice removal cost runs lower than rats in an attic for the same reason, less animal, less work, fewer visits. Rodent proofing cost is the repair: finding every opening and sealing it with construction grade materials. This is the rodent exclusion cost most quotes are really built on, priced from the number of openings, where they sit, and what each one takes to seal right. Clean-up and insulation are a separate scope again, because contaminated material has to come out and be replaced properly. The lowest quote is usually low because it only covers the first job on that list. That is also why the problem keeps coming back.
What changes from city to city around here
The houses explain most of the spread. Tile roof subdivisions in Roseville, Folsom, and parts of Sacramento and Fairfield put the work up on the roofline, where openings hide at eaves and transitions. Older ranch homes in Carmichael, Dixon, and West Sacramento sit on crawlspaces, so the low openings matter as much as the high ones. Homes near farms and the river, in Winters, Woodland, and Davis, take steady pressure from outside, so there is often more activity to clear before the sealing holds. Same company, same process, different house, different estimate.
One-time exclusion or a monthly plan?
Monthly pest control plans rent ongoing treatments. A technician comes on a schedule, and the service runs as long as the payments do. Exclusion is a repair. The openings get sealed once, the rodents inside get removed, and the house itself keeps the next ones out. A low monthly number and a one-time repair number are not prices for the same thing, so know which one you are being quoted.
What a written estimate should show
The openings found. The repairs planned for each one. Whether trapping and follow-up trap checks are included. Clean-up or insulation as its own line, if it is needed. A single charge for "rodent treatment" with nothing behind it cannot be compared to anything, and if a company cannot show you the openings it plans to seal, it has not found them yet.
How Integrity prices the work
Our inspections are free. We check the roofline, attic, garage, crawlspace, and outside of the home, show you the openings and the signs of activity, and give you a written estimate before any work begins. The process is the same in all thirteen cities we serve. We do not use poison, and rodent proofing does not require a monthly contract. If trapping or follow-up visits are part of your job, they are in the estimate. Call (707) 754-2408 to schedule.
Common questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?+
Not a firm one, and be careful with anyone who does. Without seeing the roofline, attic, and entry points, a phone price is a guess. Our inspection is free, and after it you have the real number in writing.
What is the average cost for rodent control?+
There is no honest average. A garage with two openings and a tile roof attic with ten are not the same job, and averaging them produces a number that fits neither. What we can give you is your number, in writing, after a free inspection.
How much does a rodent inspection cost?+
Ours is free. We inspect the home, show you what we find, and give you a written estimate. The estimate is the price for the work described, known before any work begins.
Does the price depend on which city I live in?+
No. The house sets the price, not the city. A tile roof home in Folsom and a crawlspace ranch in Carmichael need different work, and two houses on the same street can differ just as much.
Do I need a monthly plan after rodent proofing?+
No. Sealing the openings is a repair, not a subscription. If trapping or follow-up visits are part of your job, they are listed in your estimate.
