About Insulation Removal & Replacement
What we recommend depends on where rodents are getting in and which parts of the home we can safely inspect.
Does every attic need clean-up?+
No. Some homes need proofing and trapping only. Clean-up depends on the amount and location of droppings, nesting material and contamination found during the inspection.
Do I need to replace attic insulation?+
Not always. If insulation is heavily contaminated or damaged, removal and replacement can be discussed separately. Many homes do not need full insulation replacement.
Is clean-up included with rodent proofing?+
Not automatically. Some homes only need proofing and trapping. If clean-up is needed, it will be listed separately in your estimate.
What is rodent proofing?+
Rodent proofing means finding the openings rats and mice use to enter a home and sealing them with durable, rodent-resistant materials.
What is rodent exclusion?+
Rodent exclusion is another name for sealing a home against rats and mice. We generally use the term rodent proofing because it is easier for homeowners to understand.
What kinds of openings do you seal?+
Common areas include roofline gaps, coves, vents, garage door corners, utility openings and gaps around foundations, stucco or siding. The inspection shows which of those areas need work on your home.

Rodent InspectionInspection
The inspection is free, and it is where every job starts. Our inspector checks the attic, roofline, garage, crawlspace when there is one, and the full outside of the home, tracing droppings and runways back to the openings rats and mice are using. He takes photos of what he finds, and the inspection becomes a written estimate with a report and map our crew works from.

Rodent ProofingProofing
Our crew works from the inspector's report and map, sealing every entry point rats and mice are using, and the ones they could use next. We seal with construction grade materials.

Rodent Clean-Up & SanitationClean-Up
Clean-up is its own step, but it happens on the same visit as the proofing, while the crew is already there. Where it is accessible, we remove droppings, nesting material, damaged insulation, plastic vapor barrier, and heat duct insulation, then sanitize and deodorize the areas we cleaned. Damaged materials go back new and up to code, and we protect the inside of the home while we work.

Follow-Up & Trap ChecksFollow-Up
After the proofing, we come back every 3-5 days until there is zero activity. At each visit we check the traps and re-inspect the sealing, looking for any new opening or fresh sign that rats or mice are still moving. Once the traps stay empty and the house stays quiet, we take the traps out and the job is done.
